Program
Cagliari (3 nights)
Day 1 - Sun 24 Oct
Pick up at Cagliari International Airport at an hour to be established once everyone’s flight schedules are in. We recommend you book a flight that lands in the early afternoon (2pm – 4pm) as there will be limited transfers to hotel in Cagliari. Visit Sardinia's capital, its lively waterfront, colourful alleyways and formidable hilltop citadel.Orientation walk around the town followed by welcome dinner.
Day 2 - Mon 25 Oct
After breakfast explore Cagliari's coast, Cala Giunco: a long strip of white sandy beach wedged between tropical azure waters and a lagoon where pink flamingos congregate in spring. To the north, hills covered with Mediterranean scrub rise on the blue horizon. Return to the town center in the afternoon where you can continue to explore Sardinia's largest city.
Day 3 - Tues 26 Oct
After breakfast go on first foray in the massif Sette Fratelli, clad in thick forests. Its granite peaks and woodlands bristle with cork and holm oak, juniper, oleander and myrtle. Have lunch in a local trattoria.
Tonara (3 nights)
Day 4 - Wed 27 Oct.
Transfer to hotel in Tonara, in the hearland of Sardinia, with foray en route. Have lunch in a local trattoria. Visit the famous nougat factory in town and have a tasting of its renowned 'torrone'.
Day 5 - Thurs 28 Oct
Foray in Tonara. Have lunch in a local trattoria. Afternoon activitiy to be decided.
Day 6 - Frid 29 Oct
Foray in Tonara. Have lunch in a local trattoria. Afternoon activitiy to be decided.
Alghero (3 nights)
Day 7 - Sat 30 Oct
Transfer to Alghero with foray en route. Lunch in a local trattoria. Brief stopover in Sassari to visit its handsome historic center, before reaching hotel in the late afternoon/evening.
Day 8 - Sun 31 Oct
After breakfast visit the town of Alghero, probably Sardinia's most beautiful medieval city, and the Riviera del Corallo coastline. Have lunch in one of the excellent restaurants found in the town center.
Day 9 - Mon 1 Nov
After breakfast foray in a cork tree and holm oak forest on Monte Cuccu with fabulous vistas of cliffs plummeting into the blue sea. Have lunch in a local trattoria. Afternoon activity to be decided.
Cagliari (1 night)
Day 10 Tues 2 Nov
After breakfast transfer to hotel near airport in Cagliari. Visit Bosa, one of Sardinia’s most attractive towns. A rainbow of pastel-colored houses stacked on a steep hillside, tapering up to an imposing castle. On the town's harbor moored fishing boats bob on a glassy river elegantly lined with palm trees. Continue journey southward stopping for farewell lunch along the way.
Day 11 - Frid 3 Nov
Departure from Cagliari airport. We recommend you book a flight that departs around noon (11am – 1pm). We will only offer a limited amount of transfers to airport therefore if you remain within our suggested time slot you can avoid having to wait at the airport for a long time if your flight departs very late or having to reach hotel by your own means if your flight departs very early.
